VRX-3000 Wildlife Monitoring System

The VRX-3000 DVR has many unique features including: pre-alarm recording, extremely low power consumption, 528 TVL resolution, selectable recording modes - day only, night only or continuous 24 hour recording and a removable solid state drive. Software is included for video editing & still image capture.

VRX - 3000 offers the following advantages:

Operates under extreme conditions

snowWith an operating temperature range of -10°C to +80°C, the VRX - 3000 is suitable for use under all extremes of Australian conditions, rain, hail or snow . A proven reliable performer from mid winter applications above the snow line to the searing temperatures encountered in the Australian bush. The VRX-3000 is both water and dust proof, it also floats.

Records Day only - Night only - or Continuous

Some applications require continuous recording both day and at night. However many applications only require recording during daylight hours while nocturnal wildlife applications only require recording at night time. Recording outside the required times is waste full of both battery power and data storage capacity. A Mode switch allows you to configure the system to record only during the required times.

The three operating modes are:

24 Hour Mode- provides continuous recording both day and at night

DAY Mode- only records during daylight (automatically switches On at sunrise and Off just after sunset)

NIGHT Mode - only records at night (automatically switches On at sunset and Off just after sunrise)

Detect passing vehicles, pedestrians & animals

The VRX-3000 can be sensor activated. This miniature intelligent sensor can be either hard wired to the system (recommended for wildlife applications) or deployed using a UHF wireless radio link providing an additional level of security. Detects passing vehicles on bush tracks, pedestrian traffic, animals on game trails, at bait and feeding stations. Instantly transmits an alarm trigger, no delay between motion detection and the start of recording.

Unique pre- alarm recording

Conventional sensor driven systems often produce unreliable results when monitoring wildlife. There is an inherent delay between detection of the approaching animal and the start of recording. Moving animals have often passed by the camera before recording takes place, resulting in images of the disappearing animal (or no animal at all), a phenomena referred to as "tail ending".

We have eliminated this problem by equipping the VRX-3000 with a separate pre-alarm memory which stores the previous 30 seconds of video. This file is continuously being updated. When an alarm trigger is received the system starts recording super quality video at 25 images per second and continues recording for up to 60 seconds after the alarm ends. A single video file of the event is then automatically generated which includes the pre alarm video information. The completed video file will show; the 30 seconds preceding the alarm trigger and 60 seconds following the alarm trigger.

Remote wireless control operation

Ideally suited for conducting covert static surveillance operations at boat ramps, car parks or any other area of interest. The VRX-3000 and camera can be concealed in an unmanned vehicle, building, esky or other innocuous item. An independent observer, located a short distance away, can manually activate full motion video recording at 25 images per second using a hand held wireless remote control.

Gate & Barrier destruction -Fuel thefts - Vehicles on closed tracks - Boat Ramps

The VRX-3000 is ideally suited for the detection and video recording of vehicles at gates, the destruction of road barriers and vehicles operating on closed tracks . It can also be deployed to protect against theft and vandalism at roadside stops, public facilities, car parks, boat ramps and fuel thefts at remote equipment depots.

Endangered Wildlife - Bait & Feed Station Monitoring

Brite Star actively supports many Australian endangered wildlife programs. Our systems have provided 1000's of hours of previously unobtainable video information on critically endangered species. Visit our wildlife page to view some of our impressive results.

Simplified video data viewing/retrieval:

Video information can be viewed in the field using the compact LCD video monitor supplied. The Solid State Hard Drive can be removed from the system and replaced with a new storage drive. Video information on the SS Drive can interrogated, viewed or downloaded to a laptop or PC using the software program included with the system.

Can Run for months unattended:

With a solid state hard drive the VRX-3000 requires less than half the power of existing systems. This allows the use of smaller capacity, lighter weight batteries which are easier to transport into the field. In suitable environments, a single solar panel can be used to provide sufficient back up power to run the system for indefinite periods, weeks or even months.

In summary the VRX-3000 is recommended for short duration full motion video or long duration time lapse video recording. It is ideal for, day only or night time only applications and event driven recording using sensor activation, vehicle/ pedestrian detection on remote bush tracks.
