Drover is a 4 wheel drive all terrain R.O.V. (remotely operated vehicle).
Drover has been designed as a remote controlled mobile, multi camera platform. The user has control of forward & reverse speeds, steering, camera selection, camera pan & tilt. Video signals from the Drover's cameras are wirelessly transmitted back to the controller for up to two kilometers where they can be viewed & recorded.
The forward looking camera allows you to see what is ahead of Drover, steer around obstacles & navigate a safe path to the objective. A variety of optional cameras are available which mount onto a centrally positioned pan tilt platform.

Video & Audio Options
Video is transmitted via a wireless link back to the controller where it can be viewed and recorded on a combination LCD monitor / Digital Video Recorder. Drover is designed to operate with single or multiple cameras. The forward looking navigation camera provides a wide field (panoramic) view of the terrain ahead of the Drover.
Camera options include: fixed forward looking or upward looking illuminated cameras for detailed inspections in dark areas (under vehicles) or at night, long range cameras offering up to 300x magnification for covert surveillance mounted on a pan tilt platform, image intensified night vision & thermal imaging cameras for special applications.
Standard wireless link provides up to 100 meters range, an optional secure high power wireless link can provide reception up to two kilometers.
Power Source
Drover is powered from lithium polymer batteries which provide maximum run time for their weight & size. Batteries can be rapidly recharged in the field using the charger supplied connected to your vehicle's power supply or a separate 12 volt automotive or SLA battery.
Low Noise Output
Drover has a low sound signature, we can also provide a suppressed version which operates very quietly making it ideal for close up studies of wildlife.
Capabilities
Drover is equipped with independent suspension comprising gas struts, coil springs & torsion bars for each wheel. Combined with good ground clearance these features give Drover exceptional off road agility, outstanding climbing & obstacle clearance capabilities as displayed in the videos below.
It will even climb stairs. Rough tread 20cm off road tyres provide positive traction on most surfaces.
Drover's compact size allows it to access confined areas.
Specifications
Drover measures 70 x 40 x 20cm (LWH) with a massive 13cm of ground clearance. The large capacity cargo bay provides safe storage for the rechargeable LiPol batteries & plenty of spare room for additional electronics.
Drover has ample torque to allow attachment of a load carrying trailer, it is also capable of dragging lines under buildings for cable installation & wiring. A 4 wheel steering option is planned for the future.
